HomeSafe Santa Clara opened in Santa Clara in 2001. It is the first of four transitional housing centers for battered women and their children. HomeSafe Santa Clara cost $5.7 million to develop and has units for 24 families and an on-site manager. WATCH is the lead agency for HomeSafe Santa Clara. As in all the HomeSafe sites, families have a private living space while sharing kitchen and other public areas. The community building houses case management, counseling, and other support services.
